EdTech: Being confident
Confidence in your digital practice comes from success: success in improving your teaching and learning rather than being good with gadgets.
This requires the capacity for personal critical reflection and a means to share what you did with colleagues, at your workplace and in wider communities of practice.
You need the confidence to build other people's innovations into your practice and adapt them to your purpose.
This module looks at how to become a force for positive change through your own practice.

This module will help you build confidence in sharing your digital teaching practice with colleagues and other practitioners

Short, snappy and excellent- 'it's pedagogical outcomes not technical competence that counts'... and turn 'fear' into curiosity.
very useful
Short, but sweet
Very helpful and got me to consider how i use technology such as google classroom and google sites
like it, short, snappy, with some sound advice.
Clear, bite-sized, practical information.
An excellent taster that simply aims to encourage confidence and curiosity. Recommended.
Thumbs Up
good to reflect on what i feel confident in doing and what i need to work on in the future
A really good way to assess my own practice and how this could be developed further.
Concise but re-assuring, reminding you of areas that you already use.
Not easy to follow as again it is based on the technical abilities of teachers when using digital tools and skills in the learning environment.
felt the course reflected the need to be confident however felt it didn't cover in enough detail. Aimed at teachers but everyone should be confident with technology as it progresses and becomes a major part of all our working and home lives.
I embrace new technology to help support students in the class.
good course
It's always good to have the time for valuable self-reflection - to reflect on own practice is just what this unit allows.
Another useful module - thank you.
GOOD
Good consideration of ways to build confidence, including learner voice, reflection and support from others
Good for reflection and makes me think about how I improved and gained confidence in using the technology and ways for sharing the instructions and guidance for learners to use the VLEs and MS Teams themselves.
I enjoyed learning this module as I learnt and understood some of the technology software available and what it did and how to use it in the best way.
This was interesting, but I'm not sure if it taught me more than encouraged me to reflect.
Using new digital tools takes a bit of practice.
Interesting module , many thanks
Examples of software would have been benefitial
Get used to change and things that are new. The situation of 2020 has been compared to a war. You have to adjust to the change. From this can come new techniologies.
This is a good overview and I like the statement replace fear with curiosity
Good personal assessment tool.
I think every practitioner should do this module! Good for those who lack confidence, and good for those who are confident to try everything! Helps us see how we can be better at our own practice, and how we can share best practice with others too. Highly recommend.
This module was good as I reflected on what is going in my current working context. The web page was very temperamental on my laptop web browser. I was using Edge on my laptop. I have switched to answering on my mobile for now
some useful points to guide staff
Useful tips for me to remember and use.
Very basic module but good fr those who have a fear of change or technology.
This module was easy to follow.
Interested but no check of understanding. I think I would naturally share what I know with others
I liked the focus on the pedagogy behind the technology "Curiosity and enquiry lead new approaches to learning design through technology. All change in design has to be justified by sound pedagogical purpose. "
The introduction and the video are the most useful parts of this module but it is a bit too short. A further activity would have improved the module.
I am not interested in giving feedback each time i complete a module as i think it is unnecessary. Those who want to will do so of their own accord.
As a welding lecturer and in the middle of lock down, my type of learners do not engage in this.
short but sweet
Another useful application.
good points made and easy tips to follow
A concise yet informative module!
Was short but helpful.
Confidence is the key.
It did make me think about what I've done so far and what I could introduce
So important that technology serves teaching - I loved the starting quote "Confidence in your digital practice comes from success: success in improving your teaching and learning rather than being good with gadgets."
Really grounded and affirmative messages for the technophobes and technosceptics.
Overview of being confident with tech
Links to Pearltrees etc very useful , as I had never heard of them.
Good advice in a changing world
Short and useful session
Interesting module.
Thank you very useful,
Good module that looks at confidence. I do not fear new technology for teaching I am rather curious and like to learn about new software or apps to use in my teaching practice. I love watching YouTube videos e.g. How to use Google Jamboard or Google Breakout rooms.
Good
