EdTech: Note taking using digital tools
Digital note-taking tools exist to cover all of the situations when what you need is a platform for informal rough working: planning, preparing and structuring a task; making sketches and diagrams.
They are the digital equivalents of the back of an envelope or a blank sheet of paper, but they won't get lost and you can access them from different devices and shape into more formal or permanent forms to suit your needs.
This module will help you incorporate a range of digital tools for note-taking into your teaching practice.
Aim
Adopting digital tools for note-taking
Objective
After completing this module you will be able to:
- Make informed choices between alternative digital note-taking tools for teaching and learning
- Adopt appropriate digital note-taking approaches into your teaching practice

I like the idea of note-taking tools. I think I need to use them more often so they become more natural to use.
Good course
Digital note taking has its place where it works more efficiently. However with tablet's becoming more affordable and with better apps every area within a college education system can take advantage of ICT note taking.
Good suggestions.
Having the technology to utilise digital note taking/mapping is the biggest factor to it's proliferation and utilisation by earners and teachers alike . Good thought provoking module . Thanks
Learnt something new, would like time to trial this.
Great unit
Useful
Reminded me of the fact that I had done OneNote training and how I intended to use it but haven't!
This was a very informative module and I have learnt some much more about digital note taking and the different ways you can do this and the benefits.
Good brief introduction.
A tool that you have to wean yourself onto (?) when you are used to planning on paper. The benefits of easy access and coordination between different elements on tools such as OneNote can make it worthwhile once you have got past the initial rustiness with the software.
Useful actions as a result
Good
I feel there could have been more information on this topic, perhaps looking at some other ways to apply it
Informative.
same as hashtag module would have been really useful to have some screen shots with the video to show how the notes pages look in real life.
Not really useful for my students but given me an awareness of digital tools available.
learnt some different tools when note taking
This topic is more useful for teachers.
Good information
ok
Big emphasise on Microsoft OneNote! For quick and easy note keeping I like using Google Keep. With Google Keep I can make audio notes, add images , and task lists. Syncs to all my devices and calendars. Great note taking tool
Good links, tips and general ideas--the concept of mapping notes to specs and schemes of work etc could be very powerful.
