EdTech: Setting up and preparation for an online programme
Running wholly online programmes has its own challenges for learners and teachers. Online learning offers flexibility in when to engage with it, and attendance in a timetabled class is not a requirement for successful completion. But for some this can be a challenging because it asks learners to better plan and manage their work/life/study pattern with other learners and teachers.

Take time to find out about your learners needs and abilities of edtech.
It is essential to identify the individual learners needs and set ground rules. The learners need to know their role and responsibilities and be held accountable if not fulfilling the expectations.
Remember students need training to utilise the online resources effectively.
This is extremely important, this has been invaluable during the pandemic
Interesting.
Online learning is useful if set up right from the beginning
Some good points within the video to be aware of. Nothing earth shattering about the content of this one. But something that everyone can probably do better. As we create something we come protective of it and can blame the learner for not following instructions/ not being IT savvy. Whereas we need to find the issue and resolve it and put processes in place to prevent the same issues happening. This could be by creating learning content away from the course content to help with study skills, time management etc. Definitely something to think about.
I will start considering the home capacity of learners on my courses and not just their digital capabilities. Good tips to keep learners engaged during sessions after live sessions.
A useful opening topic. It includes some good ideas such as tutors scheduling an individual tutorial with learners to discuss the opening phase of a course. This can help learners feel more comfortable on a course.
I like the idea of the phrases 'finding your feet' and 'finding your class' activities.
I didnt find this as useful as the other modules. i will take on board the information for my future sessions.
Food for thought when adapting to online course delivery.
