EdTech: Recognise the health risks of using technology
The main cause of heightened health risks associated with using technology come from making compromises in the physical arrangements made in accessing devices. They are exacerbated by prolonged periods of concentration that suppresses awareness of time spent in poor posture and without breaks.

After completing this module, you will be able to: - list the common risks to health from using technology - recognise ways to work that remove or minimise these risks

- Avoid health risks and threats to physical and psychological well-being while using digital technologies.
- Protect from possible dangers in digital environments (e.g. cyberbullying).
- Be aware of digital technologies for social well-being and social inclusion.
- Be aware of the environmental impact of digital technologies and their use.
- Monitor learner behaviour in digital environments in order to safeguard their well-being.
- React immediately and effectively when learners' well-being is threatened in digital environments (e.g. cyberbullying).

Nothing I didn't already know but good to re evaluate my own practice again
How is 'Forgetting to wear glasses, working with too small a font on a dimly illuminated screen' solved by 'changing seating arrangements.'
Isolation whilst using technology has been exasperated by lockdown recently where teachers have unknowingly retreat into long periods of concentrated work not only in regards to online learning but also the preparation of online resources.
Makes me more aware of time spent on IT.
Good to revisit Health and safety
Good to be reminded though I have heard this many times before!
A good reminder of the importance of good posture and taking regular breaks!
Very good, but in practise we are expected to spend ever more time using technology. It is not beneficial.
Highlighted areas I am already aware of, but could do more to remedy.

With online learning prevelant, we should follow this guideline, and also educate students as well.
This is ergonomics, something I have covered with my NEBOSH qualification.
Having had 2 operations as a result of RSI, it is important to look after yourself. This module is a good guide to how to look out for ache, strains and inflammation.
